UQ Sportsfield Specifications

ASTC has been contracted by The University of Queensland (UQ) to independently assess and prepare tender documentation for the redevelopment of the sportsfields at William Dart Park. The William Dart Park sportsfields which are located adjacent to the UQ St Lucia Campus were recently acquired by UQ Sport from Brisbane City council (BCC) to meet the universities growing demand to provide adequate facilities for their students and athletes alike. UQ requested for ASTC to provide them with an agronomic assessment of the existing two football (soccer) fields. The assessment included testing and/or analysis of the soil physical and nutritional properties, turf cover and surface levels. The assessment will enable ASTC to prepare documentation relating to the upgrade which will then be provided to UQ for them to release the document for (open) tender. Irrigation design and specifications will also form part of this brief which will be provided by Parkland Australia as the subcontractor to ASTC.
