Turf Genetic Resource Centre material takes another step forward

Six weeks after collecting turf samples from the former Redlands DPI turf collection, some 200 different turf varieties have been rescued. Turf material is being grown on in 100 mm pots, prior to being established in 40 litre tubs within Australia’s Warm-Season Turf Genetic Resource Centre (GRC) operated by Australian Sports Turf Consultants,. The turf variety transfer will see the former Redlands turf collection destroyed after the turf research program shut down in 2012.
