Piggabeen Sports Complex Upgrade
Tweed Shire Council, through Boyds Bay Group, enlisted ASTC to undertake sports field consultancy works for the redevelopment of Piggabeen Sports Complex, located in Tweed Heads, NSW. Piggabeen Sports Complex is the home of Tweed Seagulls Rugby League Football Club who compete in 6 high level competitions including the Hostplus Cup and BMD Premiership rugby league competitions.
ASTC’s role was to conduct site investigation work and work with the surveyor and irrigation consultant to provide technical drawings and specifications for the redevelopment of the sports complex to facilitate the construction of 3 National Rugby League (NRL) compliant sized fields, instead of the 1 the complex has.
Design and works will also include the installation of subsoil and surface drainage and to improve water harvesting for the irrigation of the sports fields.
