Caloundra Cricket Club Turf Maintenance
ASTC was engaged by Caloundra Cricket Club to undertake an inspection of their 2 cricket fields, meet with the Ground Manager and Executive Committee Members, to discuss their existing maintenance program and to then provide recommendations to help maintain and improve ground conditions.
Toowoomba Regional Council
In April 2021 ASTC carried out annual sports field benchmarking across a number of Toowoomba Regional Council’s (TRC) sporting fields.
Bribie Island Soccer Field Redevelopment
MBRC have engaged ASTC to undertake a pre-works site investigation and soil testing to then provide technical specifications in the redevelopment of Soccer Field 1 within the Bribie Island Soccer Club. Quality Control inspections will also be undertaken during the redevelopment to assist Council.
Soil Testing in the Isaac Region
ASTC have been engaged by Isaac Regional Council to visit the region and collect soil samples from their sports fields for nutritional testing. Isaac Council has requested independent testing and recommendations to maintain and improve their sporting facilities.
Somerset College
Since 2018, ASTC has been undertaking sports field auditing (benchmarking) across Somerset College’s sporting fields. This was following ASTC’s involvement in the redevelopment of both sports fields in 2017 and 2018.
Sports Turf Fertiliser Trial
ASTC organised a sports turf fertiliser to be setup within South East Queensland. The trial, endorsed by Brisbane City Council, was established to compare 22 fertilisers products from suppliers to be able to demonstrate differences to Council and sporting clubs.
Improved Turf Options for the Macadamia Industry
ASTC has been engaged by Barenbrug Australia Pty Ltd to conduct an independent research study to evaluate the shade tolerance of a series of new and improved turfgrass varieties for possible use within the Australian macadamia industry.
Speaker’s Green Redevelopment
Queensland Parliamentary Service engaged ASTC to assess the Speaker’s Green within Queensland’s Parliament House and provide recommendations and technical specifications for its redevelopment.
Nudgee Recreation Reserve

Sports Field Topdressing Trial
ASTC organised a sand blend topdressing trial to be setup within South East Queensland. The trial, endorsed by Brisbane City Council, was established to compare 4 sand topdressing blends to be able to demonstrate product differences to Council and sporting clubs.
QSAC Bermudagrass Trial
Queensland Sports and Athletics Centre (QSAC) engaged ASTC to manage a comparative 12 month study on assessing different types of couches (bermudagrasses). The project was designed to help QSAC management choose a suitable grass for turf replacement of their Main Field in 2023.
South Pine Sports Complex Soccer 2
ASTC were engaged by Moreton Bay Regional Council to undertake a pre-works site investigation, survey works, to prepare detailed specifications and BOQ for tender use, and quality control checks during the construction and consolidation period.
North Lakes State College Sports Field Redevelopment
North Lakes State College engaged ASTC to provide technical specifications and quality control checks for the redevelopment of their two sporting fields in North Lakes, QLD.
Tahoma 31 Australian PBR Trial and Registration
ASTC has been engaged by Greenspace Turf Co-operative Limited to undertaken the PBR trial and registration of the American warm-season turfgrass variety ‘Tahoma 31’ which was developed by Oklahoma State University.

Marist College Ashgrove (MCA) in Brisbane engaged ASTC to undertake a series of face-to-face meeting with key stakeholders within the College, audit and conduct nutritional testing of their 7 sports fields and provide an annual sports turf maintenance program.
St Peters Lutheran College
ASTC was engaged to undertake an independent review of St Peters Lutheran College (SPLC) Indooroopilly Ovals including Mayer, Stolz and Harts Road. The review included meetings with key SPLC staff, sports field auditing, soil nutritional testing and provision of an annual turf maintenance plan.
A.B. Paterson College
ASTC were engaged to undertake sports field auditing across A.B. Paterson’s playing fields to determine their conditions and provide agronomic recommendations to maintain and improve the playing surfaces.
A.B. Paterson Oval
ASTC were engaged by A.B. Paterson College to provide independent specialist sports turf advice to assist with the rectification work and redevelopment of A.B. Paterson Oval.
Ormiston College’s New Sports Fields
ASTC has been engaged by Rohrig (QLD) Pty Ltd to provide specialist turf consultancy services for the construction and maintenance of new sports fields at Ormiston College in Ormiston, QLD. The fields include a large 1.5-hectare multi-use sports field and a natural turf field inside the new tartan athletics track.
Ormiston College Sporting Fields
ASTC were engaged to conduct a sports field audit and soil nutritional testing across the College’s sporting fields. This was to determine the status of the existing fields and to assist with the new sports fields which commenced construction in late 2020.
Cricket Australia Hybrid Wickets
ASTC has been engaged by Cricket Australia to conduct a comparative field study at Alan Border Field in Brisbane, QLD.

Five Sports Field Redevelopment Projects
In September 2019 ASTC commenced a busy sports field redevelopment period with works being conducted at Annerley Football Club (Annerley), Pine Hills Football Club (Bunya), North Pine Football Club (Dakabin), Northlakes Rugby League Football Club, (North Lakes) and Caboolture Junior Rugby League (Caboolture).
